The Dune lamp is a detailed composition that we can call a sculptural light, whose shape is intriguing, as it is supported by a structure that is amorphous. Its composition is merely designed by Mayice Studio, which is based in Madrid. However, Dune is a unique piece of hand-blown borosilicate glass, which is wrapped in a wood veneer diffuser, which gives it a dystopian and modern, yet natural, feel. The leaf covers most of the area, giving it a pod-like opening on one side. The glass is a unique sculpture made by hand-blown Eduardo Garuti, who is a talented artist.
Dune’s distinctive shape is composed of two symmetrical ends and an irregular bulb-shaped center. The wood veneer diffuser houses the bulb’s dimmable LED light source, and the downward light from the seedpod-like opening is softened by the glass. (LZF Brand)
